Seattle Hotels

I figure a lot of Vancouver peeps are somewhat familiar Seattle, so does anyone have any hotel recommendations for Downtown Seattle?

(I searched the memories but the Seattle posts were mostly about how to take the train/bus from Vancouver to Seattle)

I'm thinking about taking the ferry from Victoria to Seattle, and staying about 3 nights. Looking for recommendations for Downtown Seattle, close to attractions/shopping (as I'll be walking or taking transit). Mid-range budget, but my #1 priority is CLEAN. The Clipper offers ferry & hotel packages, but just thought I'd see if there are better hotels/deals than what's offered from Clipper.

Also feel free to add in recommendations for things to do/see/eat :)

College Inn maybe?
I haven't stayed here, but if you don't mind the University District (15 minutes from downtown by high-frequency transit), I've always heard good things about College Inn. It's a B&B. I know several people who have stayed there and liked it, and it's quite affordable.

I've stayed at the Moore Hotel and it's clean, affordable and right downtown. I've also stayed at the Silver Cloud Inn - the Capitol Hill location (best location ever since it's walkable to downtown and Belltown, but Cap Hill has much better restaurants/bars/shops. I've also stayed at their location close to the Stadium and it's much newer and fancier with a rooftop pool but kinda in the middle of nowhere. Have fun!

Same as above - I always stay at the Silver Cloud in Capitol Hill. Love that neighbourhood so much, still easy to get to downtown proper, and the rooms are super clean and have mini-fridge and microwave which is super helpful.
