Apartment hunt resources

I'm looking for a pet-friendly apartment to rent and having a hard time coming up with something.  I've tried Craigslist, Padmapper, Downtown Suites, Unique Accommodations, and Advent Realty.  Can anyone suggest to me other places that I might look for listings?  Thanks.

The thing I did was put up an ad. I had ZERO luck finding an affordable place in vancouver until I did this. And in my subject line I said I had a quiet dog.I did this on craigslist.

So I suggest that - make an ad, put right in the subject you have a pet, and then no one will waste your time and you won't waste your own. Good luck!

I suggest going to the neighbourhood that you want to live in and going up and down each street and look for signs in the window. (Cycling is faster than walking for this.)
Along the way, also keep a lookout for places like coffee shops that would have bulletin boards and look for ads there.
The best places don't need to do much effort to find someone so they don't put an ad in the normal places. You have to go to where they are. Also tell everyone you know that you're looking for a place.

Thanks, that's a great idea!

Yeah, I've been telling my friends, and they keep sending me leads, but none of them are pet-friendly places. :(

they have a free service where you create a login, put in the criteria you are looking for and they will email availabilities when they come up on daily, weekly or monthly basis. I found the place I was in before I bought my current one through them

Thanks. I'd been hitting their website once a week or so, but getting the info over email much easier.
